Sail with Trabeona Travels: The Mediterranean Storytellers Cruise

‍Amy, Travel Advisor at Trabeona Travels, is thrilled to invite you on a truly special journey – the Mediterranean Storytellers Cruise inspired by The Amalfi Curse by Sarah Penner, co‑sponsored by Huxley & Hiro Booksellers of Wilmington, Delaware.

‍This nine‑night itinerary was chosen with care to bring the book’s atmosphere to life, blending coastal beauty, ancient history, and the magic of exploring Italy, Greece, and Turkey by sea.

‍You‘ll sail aboard the boutique Azamara Onward, a small luxury ship carrying just 670 guests, which allows you to visit intimate ports and enjoy longer days and late nights ashore. This means more time to wander, dine, explore, and soak in each destination – not just pass through it.‍

There are only 12 cabins available for this exclusive sailing, so we encourage you to get your deposit in sooner rather than later so you can secure your spot on this incredible journey! Deposit is due upon booking and no later than October 7, 2026.

‍Trip highlights:

1. Begin your journey in the Eternal City! Whether you arrive early to explore Rome’s iconic landmarks or head straight to the port, embarkation day sets the tone for your boutique small‑ship experience. After boarding Azamara Onward, settle into your stateroom, enjoy a welcome drink, and explore the ship’s intimate lounges, dining venues, and open‑air decks.

‍ 2. Your first full day brings you to the dramatic Amalfi Coast. Tender ashore to explore Amalfi’s cliffside beauty, pastel‑colored villages, and winding alleys. This is the heart of The Amalfi Curse inspiration – and the perfect setting for your private motorboat journey to Positano, where Haven Ambrose’s treasure‑seeking adventure comes alive. Enjoy seaside cafés, artisan shops, and breathtaking coastal views.‍ ‍

3. Discover one of Sicily’s most historic gems. Siracusa blends Greek, Roman, and medieval influences, with highlights including the Archaeological Park and the island of Ortigia – the city’s ancient heart. Wander narrow lanes, visit the stunning Piazza Duomo, and explore markets filled with Sicilian flavors. This port is ideal for history lovers and photographers alike.

‍4. Continue to Greece! Arrive in the Ionian Islands and explore Kefalonia’s charming capital. Argostoli offers seaside promenades, local tavernas, and access to the island’s countryside. Many guests enjoy wine tasting at a Robola winery, visiting monasteries, or capturing sunset views at Fanari Lighthouse. The island’s relaxed atmosphere makes this a perfect mid‑cruise day.

‍5. Gythion is the gateway to the Peloponnese and the legendary region of Sparta. Explore charming waterfront cafés, visit nearby beaches, or venture inland to discover ancient sites and dramatic landscapes. This port offers a blend of Greek culture, mythology, and coastal beauty.‍ ‍

6. Spend a full day on Crete, Greece’s largest island. Agios Nikolaos is known for its scenic harbor and relaxed Mediterranean charm. Many travelers visit Knossos Palace, home of the Minotaur legend, or explore mountain villages and turquoise beaches. With a long stay in port, you’ll have time to enjoy both cultural and scenic experiences.

‍7. Rhodes offers one of the best‑preserved medieval towns in Europe. Walk through the cobblestone streets of Rhodes Old Town, explore the Palace of the Grand Masters, or venture to the Acropolis of Lindos for sweeping coastal views. With a late departure, enjoy dinner ashore or an evening stroll through the illuminated old city.

‍ 8. Welcome to Turkey! Arrive in the turquoise waters of southwestern Turkey. Marmaris blends modern marina life with natural beauty. Popular experiences include cruising the Dalyan River past ancient Lycian tombs, visiting Iztuzu Beach (a protected turtle nesting site), or exploring local markets and seaside promenades.

‍9. Visit Santorini, one of the world’s most iconic destinations. Tender ashore to explore Oia’s blue‑domed churches, Fira’s cliffside paths, and the island’s volcanic landscapes. Many guests enjoy wine tasting at local vineyards or capturing caldera views. Even though this is not a late‑night stay, you’ll still have ample time to experience Santorini’s unforgettable scenery.

‍10. Your journey concludes in Athens, gateway to ancient civilization. After disembarkation, guests may transfer to the airport or extend their stay to explore the Acropolis, Plaka district, or the city’s world‑class museums.
