La Dolce Vita with Trabeona Travels: A Women-Only Journey Through Italy

We’re thrilled to announce another exciting group trip with Trabeona Travels!

‍Jeanine, Travel Advisor at Trabeona Travels, has partnered with Tauck, one of the world’s most esteemed land, river, and small-ship cruise operators, to create a truly special women-only small group journey through Italy, taking place October 12–19, 2027.

‍For women considering their first guided trip or simply looking to travel with other women, this departure offers an easy way in: a built-in community of like-minded women, the opportunity to share the experience with fellow female travelers, and the confidence that every detail is taken care of.‍ ‍

From the rolling hills of Tuscany to the breathtaking Italian Riviera, this unforgettable journey invites you to experience the very best of la dolce vita. Savor exquisite cuisine and local wines, discover remarkable art and culture, and take in the beauty of Italy’s landscapes – from vineyards and olive groves beneath the Tuscan sun to fragrant gardens and the sparkling Mediterranean coastline.

‍Space is limited, and we can only hold spots until September 25, 2026, so reservations must be made before then. Explore the details of this incredible journey below, and if you have any questions or would like to reserve your spot, please contact Jeanine at Jeanine@trabeonatravels.com.

‍Trip highlights:

1. Welcome to Florence! ‍Your morning begins with an early-opening private visit to the 15th-century Basilica di Santa Croce, home to frescoes and sculptures by Brunelleschi and Donatello, and the final resting place of legends like Michelangelo, Galileo, and Machiavelli. Continue on a guided city tour, where the scent of leather drifts through artisan quarters and the sound of ringing bells draws you to the Duomo, with masterpieces at every turn.

‍A morning rich in discovery concludes with a guided visit to the Uffizi Gallery, home to The Birth of Venus and other treasures that deepen your appreciation for art, creativity, and the genius of the Renaissance. Enjoy a lunch of Florentine specialties before spending the rest of your day at leisure.‍ ‍

2. Say farewell to Florence as you drive through the Tuscan countryside, aglow with the warmth of morning light. Take in some of Tuscany’s most beautiful landscapes – rolling hills, vineyards, and hilltop towns – and visit the Renaissance gem of Pienza, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Stroll the manicured gardens of Palazzo Piccolomini, built in 1459 as a summer residence for Pope Pius II, with views over the sweeping hills of the Val d’Orcia. Enjoy a wine tasting and lunch before journeying to Siena, where you’ll sit down to dinner in a historic setting with architecture dating to the 13th century.

‍3. Wake up in the heart of Siena, an impressively preserved medieval city famous for its centuries-old horse race. A local guide leads a walking tour through architectural highlights, including the black-and-white Duomo – one of Italy’s great cathedrals, known for its marble-inlaid floors and sculptures by renowned artists.

As you stroll through golden-toned city squares, discover Gothic palaces and medieval towers. Enjoy time on your own or join an optional guided museum visit in Piazza del Campo, a shell-shaped plaza recognized as one of Europe’s greatest medieval squares.

‍4. Travel to the walled town of Lucca for either a bicycle tour led by a local guide or a guided walk. This medieval city’s preserved Renaissance-era red-brick walls block out traffic and modern distractions, fostering a peaceful atmosphere and original Roman street plan. Lucca, unlike many Tuscan towns, is topographically flat, making it a cyclist’s dream; one of the best ways to explore this historically powerful and culturally rich city is by bicycle. If you choose, join your local guide and do just that – down its narrow lanes… across its ancient piazzas… and along the top of its massive walls. ‍ ‍

For lunch today, immerse yourself in a culinary experience at a family-owned winery and olive oil estate in the heart of the Tuscan hills, where you’ll learn the art of fresh pasta-making, sample extra virgin olive oil, and taste local wines.

‍5. Board a ferry to one of five ancient fishing villages threaded like charms along the Riviera coastline – Cinque Terre National Park, “the five lands” (weather permitting). Each village tumbles down hillsides covered in olive groves and pastel houses, leading to clear blue waters. Though now connected by rail, these villages were once reachable only by sea or on foot. Enjoy lunch in a local trattoria and time to explore Monterosso al Mare or opt to visit another village by train. ‍ ‍

6. Take a private boat ride to the fishing village of Portofino, long cherished by artists and writers drawn to its serene harbor, colorful façades, and Mediterranean charm. If you wish, make the steep climb to Castello Brown, where sweeping views of the harbor reward every step. This afternoon, enjoy a docent-led visit to 14th-century La Cervara Abbey, renowned for its gardens overlooking the sea, followed by lunch.
